I am sure you have been told about me, I have spoken against Mr. Childs in several differnt forums. I just wanted to congratulate you on your victory in court. I dont know if your a good alderman or not, I have read alot of bad and good comments about you but I am not in a position to make any judgements in regards to your position as alderman. Alot of men would have just quit and said the hell with this but you stood your ground and that should tell the people something about your character. From the experiences I have had with Mr. Childs, its not over. He will do whatever he can, regardless of the expense or embarssement to the city, to remove you from office. He will use the excuse that he is only doing what is right. I only hope that you have the man arrested for what he did to you at the meeting. I have been reading the news daily waiting to get the offical word that your appointment was legal and I can only imagine how upset Sam was. The sad thing is, he wasnt upset because a bad alderman is still alderman (and im not saying your a bad alderman) but that he lost a battle. But he hasnt won the war yet and neither have you. With Sam its war and he will keep fighting. I wish you all the luck in the world. The sad thing is that coopertown is still in the news and will continue to be in the news. If you fight Mr. Childs then he will make it look like its your fault that cooopertown is still in the news(he has already made it your fault that his attempt to remove you from office is in the news) but on the other hand, if you dont fight him then your allowing a power crazed mad man to ru nthe city and most likely destroy it. What do you do? Your in a bad position. I hope you stand your ground but I also dont want to see coopertown in the paper anymore. I would hate to be in your shoes right now. What do you do? From what I saw in the news in regards to his attempt to remove you from the meeting, you did the right thing. You didnt loose your cool but you stood your ground. You asked for the same respect that Sam would have wanted but he didnt show you or the town any respect at all. You did the right thing. As for your injunction and taking them to courts, well, It was very clear that Sam was wrong and you were right. If your appointment wasnt legal then Sam should have tried to remove you legaly but he chose to just throw you out without any vote of the people or a judges ruling. I am sorry to hear about your truck fire. This has me grealtly concerned. I dont think Sam had anything to do with that but on the other hand, I have known Sam for about 6 years and I would never have thought he would do what he has done. I have a feeling that he is suffering from some mental disorders. Unfortunately, alot of people his age suffer from mental disorders. He has directed the office manager of our homeowners association to do everything he can do make our lives miserable as long as we own units there and its an on going battle. I have made it a point to put everything in writing, copying everything to all the board members and several other homeowners to protect ourselves. Fourtunately, the other board members are begging to see what Sam is trying to do and they are afraid of being sued again so they have actualy started voting against him when he tries to take action against us. The last thing we want to do is sue our association because of Sam and we are hoping that at the next election we will have someone that will run against him. Unfortunately, going back 20 years, we have had to beg people to sit on our board of directors. Nobody wants to deal with it. I wish you well and hope things go better in the future. Please do whatever you can to seperate your name, or defend your name in the future battles your going to have with Mr. Childs. I will be forwarding some information to a concerned party in regards to Mr. Childs behavior and I hope that it helps you.

Jack, first of all let me say that I am Alice, Sam's wife, he does not read this forum.

The person that wrote this letter was fired from a job by the condo association that Sam is president of. the whole situation is very sad, and I will not go into any more about it except to let you know that you do not know anything about this situation and I am sure did not check anything before printing this letter. But I will say that the letter is not true and is slander.

I would like to quote something :

"Your actions were an embarrassment to me, my family and the citizens of Coopertown.-- The judgments you made -- insulted my pride, and insulted my authority and have now caused me and my family emotional stress that they did not need or have to go through "

This is a quote from a Coopertown alderman, does it look familiar? Yes, it came from you.

You are really full of hate and I guess this shows the level to which you will go .

By the way, if someone choses to present a different opinion of Sam Childs to me, than I think the people of Coopertown deserve to know the truth as well. This is no different than what you and Sam do everyday in our beautiful city! The two of you have destroyed this city because of your egos.

The Childs or the citizens haven’t done any thing to you or your family. If anything in your warped sense of mind has been your own doing or by your misguided corrupt friends of the past administration. Maybe they will be sharing a jail oh no prison cell with you! I didnt realize Mr. long printed my letter publicly but its ok by me, if he had asked I would have said fine. FYI, I do not endorce Mr. Long and that was clearly stated in my letter, I just feel a common bond with him seeing him being treated unfairly by Sam Childs as my family and I were. FYI, I was fired by Sam, not the homeowers, He fabricated and set me up for failure and convinced one other board member that hated me because she was almost sued for non payment of fee's, to fire me. The third board member was not present and my parents were not invited to that meeting. FYI, I was asked to help out around the association until they found a new maintenance man, the manager asked me to stay on permanently and I refused because my parents were on the board. He went to the board and Sam himself voted to make me an offer and that nepitism would not be an issue, its in the minutes. As for the accusation of doctoring the books, this is the very first I have heard of this, if anything, my parents spent alot of there own money over and above what any other board member or president has ever spent out of there own pocket. They even paid for some of the landscaping around the office out of there own pocket. I would love to know what that person is talking about but we have copies of all the records, made a point to send them to the cpa when Maureen resigned, and gave them to the attorney. We also made the new treasurer sign a receipt for the books when they were turned over. I am sure if Sam Childs had any evidence of theft from the association by any member of my family he would have prosecuted immediatly and I challange him to do so. He accused me of stealing tools knowing that when I took over maintenance that I was REQUIRED by the homeowners association to provide my own tools, which I did, but he claims my tools belonged to the association. Sam Childs will fabricate anything to get his way. He lied to the homeowners and fixed it to where his contractor buddy, who lives in coopertown and helped him with his campaign got a job at the association wich ended up going $10,000 over budget. This is why I contacted Mr. Long. To let him know that he isnt the only person Sam has bullied and that he isnt the angel that he pretends to be. I dont care if Mr. Long stays on as alderman or not, I just dont want to see the man bullied and I dont blame him one bit for standing up for his rights. I am only responding here because someone accused us of stealing and I would love to know exactly what they are talking about and see the proof. Glen, I guess you are having a bad day, but I wonder why if Childs was so power crazed he did not sue you for liable long ago! Keep supporting whoever you want but quit lying! I own a condo here and want Childs to stay-after all it is a volunteer job!

well im not lying, he cant sue me because he knows i have proof of what I say. I dont know who you are but if youve been an owner there long you should know that I'm not lying. My parents NEVER stoled any monies from the association and spent alot of there own as well as there time. Im not going to waste my time with you because its apparent you have been blinded by sam and dont realy see whats going on. I challange you to prove my parents stoled from that association, you cant do it. prove me wrong!

I wasnt going to make any more post on this forum but jack posted my letter to him and someone accused us of stealing and thats the only reason I came back here. you attack me and I will come back. Again, if you have ANY proof I would love to see it because it doesnt exist.

Well Glen I would be ashamed to be on this site making an ass out of your self and to bring your family in and put out there every shameful thing they did just to save your sorry butt! If they weren’t protecting (40 yr) you and providing you a place to live and sleep and a job they wouldn’t be caught up in this sh$t! Just goes to show you that you have no respect or compassion for what you could do to them and if you keep pushing the circumstances they could be and possibly put in due to you running your fingers across the key board! But there again you might have been smart enough to let the statue of limitations expire to run your mouth and you and family be protected.

If Mr. Long wanted to prove that your claim had any teeth he has the ability and resources to check your unemployment records and learn that you had 4 appeals and lost the home association won on all 4 accounts. Part of public record. With Truth to be known you cost the home association more than you can comprehend. And you still won’t to back a back up singer B. J. Thomas with somebody has done me wrong song! Get a grip, grow up, lick your wounds, a life, and get out of ours, and get on with it.

It is my understanding from a person in attendance of the Monthly meeting that Jack Long resigned as alderman! It was accepted and voted on in the meeting. Also was told he promised to see them in court in about a year!
